In 2007 Francine was awarded a BSc in Sports Rehabilitation & Injury Prevention.  

 

The British Association of Sports Rehabilitators and Trainers (BASRaT) is the UK regulator and professional association for Sport Rehabilitators and an advocate of improving health through Physical Activity.  

 

Sport Rehabilitators aid people with musculoskeletal pain, injury or illness. They help people to maintain their health and fitness, recover from and prevent injury and reduce pain using exercise, movement and therapy.

Sport Rehabilitators have a strong focus on biomechanics, exercise rehabilitation and returning patients to high levels of function. The overall skill set and focus is why the Ministry of Defence chooses BASRaT registrants for their most demanding exercise rehabilitation roles.

Francine holds comprehensive insurance through BASRAT who champion and regulate Sport Rehabilitators.  BASRaTs register of Sport Rehabilitators is accredited by the Professional Standards Authority, the UK`s top medical regulator.

Francine has specialist instructor training for working to improve balance and reduce the risk of falls in frailer, older people.  

 

Postural Stability Instructor (PSI) training is endorsed by The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity with Senior Activity and Health Practitioner membership status.  

 

This Specialist PSI  training in The Prevention of Falls is the first and currently only, evidence based and endorsed falls prevention training available in the UK.  Its development, funded by the Department of Health, involved a National Advisory Group of experts.

 

Francine also holds Chair-Based Exercise training with Later Life Training (LLT) and has attended both Parkinson's and Osteoporosis study days.

Francine is matwork qualified with STOTT Pilates and has a 200hr Yoga Teacher Training with Frog Lotus Yoga who are registered with Yoga Alliance USA and UK.
